To be honest, if you enlarge the expression "a+b" you'll see a slant effect as
if the letters are not aligned to the base line. Also, the thickness of the
minus sign (-) is different from the plus sign (+). Look not good to me.
I think the font Liberation serif does not render well. OpenSymbol looks better
for + and - but it does not have serif.
Any other suggestions?
