Let's say I start with this sentence:
"This is my SENTENCE I wrote as an example to ILLUSTRATE the how the user might
use this function [here I intend to put a full stop after changing it to
sentence case] and THIS SENTENCE HAS NO PURPOSE AT ALL."
Now, I decide to split this into two sentences. I select this first part
expecting to change the first part of the text to sentence case, and then I
will put the full stop after "this function" part. But LibreOffice decides to
change the complete paragraph, and I did not want the second part to be
changed.
In the context of the user stories, this is a real scenario and the current
implementation does not help.
So honouring selection is important. We don't know what user intends to do.
Selection helps here, not guessing. That was the point of my satire... not to
offend everyone.
