Okay, this may be somewhat opinion-based. But I’m pretty sure that the vast
majority doesn’t know about these autocorrect-rules and this therefore mainly
hinders text processing for text containing those characters on purpose. And as
mentioned, there already are accelerators in addition to the toolbar buttons.
If people are used to the Markdown way, and want to use this technique in LO,
too, they can activate this. This way, nobody is faced with unexpected
behavior.
