Microsoft binary document .DOC are not native to LibreOffice, they must be
filter exported on save, and filter imported when opened.
If you need better fidelity, work with the "native" ODF Document format -- .ODT
which the project is committed to supporting correctly.
For interoperability, Microsoft Office products will open the .ODT
