One additional clue:
I uninstalled all LO software which has been installed with the .deb files
proposed on the LO Download page.
I reinstalled LO, but **via snap** this time. The problem disappears. Only
remaining issue is that the video plays, but the sound only. Display stays on
the first image of the video.
Maybe opening a separate bug for this one ?
