--- Comment #1 from Alex Thurgood <[email protected]> --- OpenOffice 3.2 used the spadmin utility, i.e. PS to PDF, via lp/lpr. OpenOffice 3.3.x switched from PS to printing directly via CUPS, and in doing so, no longer needed the PPD that could be defined within spadmin. LO took over that code from OOo 3.3.x, so it no surprise that this is no longer available. Have you tested OOo 3.3.x or AOO 3.4 to see whether you can still see that option in your print dialog ? If that is the case, then there may be a bug in the LO print handling code. If you can't select it with AOO or OOo 3.3.x then it is probably not going to be fixed at least not by the LO project, since that would involve reverting back to spadmin and the lp subsystem. This is one of my own personal regrets, but I have come to live with it. For me, at best, this is a request for enhancement of low priority. You might have better luck filing a report with the AOO project to see if anyone there is interested in dealing with what you (quite rightly) see as a loss of functionality.
