Summary: FORMATTING: Numbered bullet points cause text to be
misaligned when number is too large
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified

Test document
When numbering (with Roman numerals in this instance) Libreoffice Writer will
keep all the numbered lines aligned with each other. But when you get to a
large number (such as viii.) there is insufficient room and the text is tabbed
across to the right and thereby throws it out of alignment with the rest of the
numbered entries. The following line (ix. in this instance) is aligned like the
rest of the numbered entries. (see attached document which shows the problem) I
have not tried too many other numbering types (mainly Roman numerals where the
problem is more evident) but the same behaviour is present in MS Word as well.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a list of numbered dot points using Roman numerals
2. Ensure that the list goes up to (x.)
3. The problem will be present at number (viii.)
Current behavior:
The numbered entry (viii. in this case) throws the alignment of the text out by
tabbing it across to the right (only for that row).
Expected behavior:
The numbered entry (viii.) should keep the same text alignment as the other
numbered rows. This could be done by allowing more space between the numbers
and text by default or for Libreoffice Writer to detect that the alignment will
be thrown out at (viii.) or other numbered entry that causes the problem and
modifies the alignment of all numbered entries to keep all of them in the same
alignment.
There will need to be a decision made on how high the numbered entry is before
the text is tabbed across like the current behaviour. For example, if you reach
bullet point number 1000 should Libreoffice realign all other numbered points?
Test on Libreoffice 3.6.1 on Windows and Libreoffice 3.5.4 in Linux Mint.
Platform (if different from the browser):
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101
