Priority: medium
Bug ID: 55893
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FORMATTING: Graphs won't show 2 levels of category
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 3.6.2.2 release
Component: Chart
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
When I make charts (e.g. bar charts) in the new LO 3.6, Writer or Calc there
appears to be no support for more than one level of categories. E.g, if I want
to have two columns for categories, the graph will only show one of these
columns along the primary axis.. In earlier versions it used to be able to show
at least two levels.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a chart with two columns for categories - e.g.
category 1 | category 2 |dislike | like | love |
-----------|------------|--------|--------|-------|
running | male | 3 | 4 | 5 |
-----------!------------!--------!--------!-------!
running ! female ! 5 ! 4 ! 5 !
-----------!------------!--------!--------!-------!
climbing | male | 4 | 5 | 2 |
-----------!------------!--------!--------!-------!
climbing | female | 4 | 3 | 7 |
-----------!------------!--------!--------!-------!
2. create a bar chart for this data covering the full range of columns and rows
Current behavior:
The graph only shows the second column as category
Expected behavior:
The graph should show the first column as major category and the second column
as minor category (earlier versions used to do this).
Platform (if different from the browser):
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/16.0
