Hi Cathy,
Some precisions about the Position and Size dialog:
This dialog is commun to several graphic objects(chart, shape, Text box...).
It seems that only Text box allows the use of Adapt options.
If you open a small Box(hight as a cell, and half a cell wide), type one word
inside, then open the Position and Size dialog, tick Fit width to text, your
box will adapt to it.
This is not available with Position and Size for Chart and so grayed out.
Protection options are abailables for me. I don't reproduce your problem.
I join the modified attachment. Chart contains a protected text box and is also
protected.
