ONE more example of this behavior:
1. you write docuumentary
2. move on... do whatever until it is underlined...
3. place the cursor at "u" and hit backspace...
what happens:
the underlining doesn't disappear
it will only disappear when you place the cursor after the word (for example)
and hit space or anything)... that is, +1 keystroke...
