sample DB file so that we can attempt to reproduce.

I am assuming you have created numeric field in your table. How have you set
the data entry format ?
You then state that :
"This happens as well if you have no format entry set in the table's datafield,
but you set one in a form field for this datafield."
What type of control have you chosen to display/enter the percentage value
bound to the underlying numeric field and which formatting have you applied ?
