I support this enhancement request.
When typing "17 Sept" and enter, Calc automatically should change to the date
format of the chosen number format.
I can confirm that Sept is the normal abbreviation for September also in German
and this month is the only with 4 characters. I assume all languages that have
Sept[...] as month name behave identical.
