Michael I did some talking at #kde and the folks over there commented the issue
might be on the KF5 VCL plugin. Seems buble develops it> I looked in github and
found you also worked on this:

That would explain why "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice" did work. Despite the
letters being awefully small.
