Sorry, I thought I'd made the comment.
Basically the 'bug' only occurs with .xlsx format.
I saved to ODS and it's fine - edited and saved.
If I save a copy to .xlsx it again reverts (transparent/dotted lines in the
graph).
So for me the issue is solved switching to ODS.
