Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57262
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Cannot print to file without a CUPS server
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: FreeBSD
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 3.5.7.2 release
Component: Printing and PDF export
Product: LibreOffice
I sucessfully compiled libreoffice, my envorinment uses lpr-based printing,
however, a cups-client-package is installed as well, but I don't have any CUPS
servers running.
Unfortunately, the configuration option "use CUPS for printing" seems to be
gone ...
Okay, so I thought, I could just "print to file" and than run "lpr $file", but
printing to a file doesn't work and does not give me any error messages, the
file just doesn't get created.
A truss shows that lstat and stat are being called for the file I want to print
to, it doesn't exist, I dow have write permissions, but no write call shows up.
Export to PDF works, but I'd like to get PostScript without setting up a CUPS
server and I think this should be easy to accomplish, because CUPS wants
PostScript for Input as well, doesn't it?
(and once you created the PostScript file, you could also call "lp $file" for
printing)
