I would be fine with this improvement approach.

As it is, it's hardly a "feature", more like a pain in the backside.

Sometimes in LO you come across an issue that looks like it's X but it turns
out to be Y after discussion. That's just how it is, so please don't be
patronising by suggesting I should be able to magically diagnose the issue at
the start. If I could do that, I would be filing bugs, I'd be filing patches.
