Argh, I had forgotten the "export":
So it would be
export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen && soffice
Indeed, without "export", I don't think the value of SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN would be
used by soffice.
(sorry for having forgotten this).
