@Steve : I think I might have got the wrong end of the stick here.
I looked at your first screenshot and assumed that the option tick box you were
referring to was the one you indicated was now missing, but I see that this is
the automatic file extension option tickbox (which is still there).
If so, then we see the same thing and I can confirm this bug report.
>From what I recall, the hide extension tickbox was removed when the LOdevs
removed LO builtin file dialog support to only rely on Finder dialogs. That was
a while ago already.
