This is not a bug. You have recording changes enabled [1], possibly
accidentally using keyboard shortcut (Shift+Ctrl+C).
Remember to disable this function, not turn off its view. If you don't disable
it, but only hide, you would still record changes, and everything in the
document, including what you had deleted, would be available for anyone seeing
the document.
