Bug ID: 131686
Summary: ENHANCEMENT: Run every document in a separate proces
Product: LibreOffice
Version: Inherited From OOo
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Probably highly technical and like evaluated before. Why is there a single
proces for all documents? And not separate soffice.bin processes for each
document. Sending a large print job or exporting a large file make all other
documents barely usable.
Same for saving large Calc sheet. On a hang/freeze a single process can be
terminated. It would reduce the chance of losing work if an instance would
crash.
It probably would increase the memory usage a little, but i think thats
bearable.
Splitting process rather normal on Windows as far I know. Not sure about the
Linux/Mac environment
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Press CTRL+N
Actual Results:
Everything running in a single proces/container
Expected Results:
Multiple containers/processes
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
