It might be a long shot, but sometimes the distribution-packaged versions
differ from TDF-packaged ones, so you could try an appimage of a TDF build:

Did you close the Github issue by accident? I have sometimes done it myself as
the "close & comment" button is right next to the comment button.
I guess the problem continues with Linux Mint 19.3?
