Can not reproduce on Windows 10:

My exact steps:
1. Create a new empty document;
2. Type a sentence with several words;
3. Use mouse to select two words in the middle;
4. Press "Italics" button on the toolbar, the two selected words are now shown
in italic font;
5. File > Save, choose "Word 2007-365 (*.docx)" format;
6. Close and restart LO, open the saved file, the italicized words are still
there.
