$ SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice --writer
opens Writer but all widgets are blank, no menu bar, no icons, style side pane
is blank though I can select items in it.
I think I didn't install all VCL plugins and Fedora uses Wayland, not X11.
I'm midway of upgrading from Fedora 31 to Fedora 32. Will retry as soon as
upgrade has completed, eventually installing other plugins. Will report then.
