Bug ID: 133268
Summary: Colibre’s color palette is faint and fails WCAG
contrast guidelines
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: low
Component: UI
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Please refer to https://t.me/LibreOfficeDesign/40711 for a description of the
problem with the color palette, but basically, it is too faint. The biggest
offender is that sort of manila yellow it uses, which together with the icon
theme’s thin lines, it makes many icons completely blend with the application’s
background — especially in the gray sidebar.
Microsoft has since moved on from this palette and migrated to a newer, more
saturated one:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/design/add-in-icons-monoline#palette
. I believe Colibre’s icons could benefit from being recolored to match this
newer palette.
This is not urgent, but a nice-to-have — although one that will improve
usability for thousands of Windows users.
