To improve readability when writing, reading and reviewing text, it would be
visually better to display nonbreaking characters (space and hyphen) as regular
characters. For now, they are displayed with a gray background.
The gray background should only be visible when displaying nonprintable/special
characters or, instead of a gray background, a different sign could be used
like Word does when displaying special characters.
