Thanks for testing. The gen backend is a fallback that is normally not used. It
is not very aesthetically pleasing unfortunately.
You could try also launching LibreOffice in Safe Mode: Help - Restart in safe
mode and then Continue in safe mode. It might be a problem in your user profile
and Safe Mode allows to test temporarily with a new profile:
