Bug ID: 134231
Summary: Adding an extension to the Extensions website is not
user-friendly
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Extensions
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Hi!
(contrary to the bugzilla on-screen hint when entering the new bug, there's no
such thing as a component named "www", so I'm posting under Extensions which
might be an oversight)
I've got 2 enhancement requests here:
1. Finding how to add a new extension to the Extensions website is cumbersome
and very well hidden (several links in a row to follow). The Extensions website
should have a visible option to get into the extension proposal process.
2. When the extension is added, its status is "draft". There's no information
about how the publishing process is taken care of and what steps the extension
author should take now.
And 3. (yes ;) What's the use of the three dotted button at the bottom left of
the extension edition page (near "Save")? What's the use of the green round +
button at the bottom right of the extension edition page?
A documentation page should be set and be available. There's probably one but I
can't find it.
Steps to Reproduce:
Go to the Extensions website and search for a way to publish a new one.
Finding you've got to click the About link is a surprise. Moreover, you'll have
to click once more on some link hidden in a long sentence.
Actual Results:
Direct access to the extension management.
Expected Results:
A single click to go to the extensions manager.
Make the extension proposal prominent!
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Have some visible documentation about the extension management (proposals and
updates).
