Update: the latest version available from Debian Backports for i386

still shows the bug on a 32 bit VirtualBox VM. I couldn't try it on the real
32 bit hardware (a MacBookPro5,5 which is my wife's working machine) yet, but I
strongly presume it will show the same effect.
