The names of mathematical functions are NOT unique across the different languages. For example, the SUM() function is SUMME() in German, the SQRT() function is WURZEL() in German. I have the German language package installed, that's why SQRT() was not recognized. Confusion came up because HELP is given in English only, the SQRT() function is described instead of the WURZEL() function. Best!
