Bug ID: 135730
Summary: [linux] When selecting text, only part is stored in
the primary selection (middle click past)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
libreoffice 6.1.5.2 (but present for years)
linux / debian stable (buster) / xfce4
When I select a text in writer, I expect that all the selection will be stored
in the primary selection area, so I can paste it elsewhere with middle click.
But only the beginning of the text is stored and pasted. Or the end of the text
if I select it from right to left (or bottom to top).
Strangely, it depends of the speed of my movement, if I move the mouse quickly,
more text is selected. If I move it slowly, only one or two words are selected
(or even one or two letters if I go really slowly). Same behavior if I select
with Shift-Arrows, only the first world is selected with Shift-right, or the
first line with shift-down.
If I double-click or triple-click, then all is selected because selection is
made by block.
I tried with a fresh config (erasing ~/.config/libreoffice before starting LO)
I tried after having unloaded clipman
I tried on other computers (but where OS was also debian/xfce)
LO is the only application behaving in this way, all other softs are selecting
as expected, so it's not a system-side problem.
The result is that this very handful way of select-and-paste is unavailable for
me, along with this other bug:

Thank you.
