The OP is using macOS 10.13 - this is known to cause LO to crash in some
circumstances (other bug reports unrelated to Base, but difficult to
reproduce).
We would also need to know whether any accessibility programs are running,
which Jave version is installed, etc.
@amonre1 : can you provide us with that information as well, please ?
