            Bug ID: 136811
Summary: Allow Cross references to IMAGES
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All

          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Version: 7.0.0.3 (x64)
Build ID: 8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

AFAIK, at present you cannot insert a cross-reference DIRECTLY to an image in a
document: IME, you have to set the cross-reference indirectly on the same
page/frame containing the image. And lists of illustrations can be very long –
requiring a lot of preliminary spadework to set the references!

SUGGESTION: Allow images to appear as a new category under "FIELDS > CROSS
REFERENCES > TYPE", with the names of the images appearing in the "Selection"
pane. Thus, cross-references could be inserted directly, as they are for
headings, for example.
