Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59203
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: undefined: Opening file on network is very slow
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 3.6.4.3 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
We have some Synology diskstation NAS on our network. We store some docs (like
.xls files), in a shared folder on those NAS.
When trying to open a file, LibreOffice Calc takes a long time before the file
is really opened. The problem is not with network speed (gigabit), and only
happens with LO 3.6 and on some computers. For example 30s with LO 3.6, but
about 2s only with LO 3.5.4 or Microsoft Excel.
Actually we did not find something common between the computers having problems
(about 1/2). All PCs (having problem or not) are using the same Windows XP
version, have the same antivirus (and settings), same network settings, etc...
Steps to reproduce:
1. .... Store an .xls file on a network volume
2. .... Open it with LO 3.6
3. ....
Current behavior:
Opening files on network volumes is very slow (for some computers).
Expected behavior:
Opening files on network volumes should be as fast as with LibreOffice 3.5 on
all computers.
Operating System: Windows XP
Version: 3.6.4.3 release
