i remember some clue from @erAck? on another issue:

hidden', or similar,
that applies here, if you open the filter dropdown on the reloaded sheet all
items are checked, but the formerly outfiltered rows are hidden,
as ex$el itself can do better - tested 2010 - i'd say 'weakness of xlsx
implementation in calc' ...
