After restarting in Safe Mode:
- Default Language in Writer editor window and in Writer Settings is English
- After writing some words in Spanish, selecting them and setting the language
to Spanish, Spanish was available in Status Bar and the Spell Checker worked.
A note: Out of curiosity I started Calc (in Normal Mode)and Spell Checker
detected Spanish and worked fine.
Latest news!
In Normal Mode now, I re-checked Writer settings and Default Language for
Documents was not set to any (It has been set to Spanish for years). I re-set
to Spanish. When opening a new document the language in Status Bar says
"Multiple Languages", but after writing some words in Spanish I can choose
Spanish in Status Bar and Spell Checker works.
