Thanks for the update, and thanks for considering my suggestion at least.
Of course, it is currently possible to avoid the splash screen by modifying the
sofficerc startup script. I myself have done that, so this is not a
significant problem for me - my suggestion was only to make it easier. But the
status quo is not too bad.
