I haven't been able to reproduce this with v7.0.3.1. I also didn't notice the
delay between copying the data and being able to paste it into the new location
that I saw with v7.0.2.2.
I tried with a similar amount of data (approximately 4,000 rows) and also much
more data (approximately 11,000) rows.
So, allowing for the fact that I couldn't reproduce this immediately after the
first crash, it looks like the changes discussed by V Stuart Foote have solved
the problem.
