new finding:
the instability comes from working with mouse!
Manipulating the attributes by entering values into the properties dialog is
stable.
Nevertheless: saving the report changes and then the whole database is
necessary.
Otherwise there is again the risk of a crash.
Also when klicking from the properties dialog to somewhere outside produces
crashes very often.
