The positive responses motivated more careful analysis.
This change may be quite simple (in terms of what needs to be changed).
Here is a revised proposal with ‟all" changes.
(replaces Section II in comment 0)
(changes marked with Roman Uppercase letters.)
1. Should be possible to keep "Bullets and Numbering" as label for
direct-formatting dialog box and its “command”.
Seems like a “good thing”
- assume that the label is familiar/well-known
- keeps the same name as “Bullets and Numbering” toolbar
- reduces need for changes in source code and documentation.
2. For 'Bullets and Numbering' dialog box
A. "Numbering" tab --> "Numbered"
( sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/bulletsandnumbering.ui )
3. For "List Style" dialog box (currently labeled "Numbering Style")
B. title of "Numbering Style" dialog box --> "List Style"
C. "Numbering style" tab --> "Numbered"
( sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/templatedialog16.ui )
4. For Paragraph/Paragraph Style dialog
D. "Outline & Numbering" tab name --> "Outline & List"
(sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/templatedialog2.ui)
E. "Numbering" -> "List" (as section name) on that tab
F. "Numbering style" --> "List style" in "Numbering" section
( sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/numparapage.ui )
That’s it.
(plus a few places where ‟numbering style” is used in tooltips or labels, and
should be modified. will put those in a separate comment)
