I couldn't care less what Microsoft does or wants.
Almost all graphical programs (Kate, Gimp, etc.) on my Linux machine use Alt+D
(for Discard, Don't save).
Also Mac OS uses Cmd + D.
It really puzzles me why Libre Office changed this.
