re comment #44, yeah probably makes a preexisting problem more visible under
certain conditions. Less complete invalidates forcing complete redraws could
make something underlying more obvious seeing as there would be less papering
it over. comment #43 is a case that can only happen with comments in the
margins so original report in comment #1 that doesn't have any of those would
remain unchanged even with those extra invalidates added back.
Is there any examples of this *not* under windows, i.e. is there evidence it is
cross-platform or windows-specific ?
