Finally, an observation on why this happens, which might also help developers
to pinpoint it:

Some areas in table autoformat styles are assumed to contain numbers.
For example, if I create the following table, then select it, then create a new
table style with it, LibreOffice will auto-detect that the second column
contains numbers:

| a | 1 |
| b | 2 |

Then, IF NOT using the English locale, whenever I try to apply that style, the
second column in the tables where it's applied will be converted to numbers,
and become zero.
