          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 59987
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: : Availability of Language Support (for spellcheck,
thesaurus etc.) not visible to user
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux (All)
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
        Whiteboard: BSA
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 3.6.0.2 rc
         Component: Linguistic
           Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Adding Language support for other languages in LibreOffice is VERY easy on
Ubuntu OS.
-> Via the Ubuntu OS Language Support Settings.

PLEASE make this information clear to those (non-techie) Ubuntu users. It took
me (a non-techie user) TOO LONG to find this!

I actually installed OpenOffice in German to add Spellcheck functionality to my
Ubuntu OS, before finding out LibreOffice Language Availability is directly
accessible in the System Settings (I know, I am VERY non-techie).

This functionality is truly AWESOME, but the learning curve is TOO STEEP if you
plan to target a large audience of time-minded non-techie, noobish users like
me. I am an open-source enthusiast and hope by this contribution I can do all
the other non-techies using LibreOffice on Ubuntu a favor.

SUGGESTION: Add a simple text in LibreOffice reminding the User he can also add
Language-Functionality via the OS System Setting (in Ubuntu).

Steps to reproduce:
1. try being a noob
2. try adding German Spellchecking to LibreOffice via LibreOffice
3. switch to OOo because they have built-in Language functionality in their
installer
4. scratch your head, and admire your noobishness after finding out how to
actually solve your problem.

5. SUGGESTION: Add a simple text in LibreOffice reminding the User he can also
add Language-Functionality via the OS System Setting (in Ubuntu).

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:

Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 3.6.0.2 rc
