Thanks, yes, resetting my user profile does fix the problem. In my bug report,
I did say that it works fine in safe mode.
I wish the directions for resetting user profile were more specific. Renaming
user folder to user-old is not really helpful. I now have no list of previously
opened files, no templates, etc.
I can go into the options settings and make changes. It would be splendid to
know what exactly to change in in those options. I also mentioned that I did
not see anywhere anything about OpenGL.
Thank you for your help. You can close this bug report. I'll try to figure out
what is more specific to my issue.
