--- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- (In reply to comment #1) > I've just copied text and images from a page (I use Google Chrome) and > pasted it without problems in Writer, under Windows 8. I'm using LibreOffice > 4.0 RC2, though. Maybe it's a web browser problem? Fitoschido, thanks for trying it out, but now I'm left more perplexed than ever. All other (obvious) possibilities proved not to be the cause, so everyone concluded it must be Windows 8. I experienced the problem in all browsers, including Chrome. I guess it's possible that LibreOffice 4.0 but not prior versions (like mine) can handle Windows 8 in regard to copying and pasting web page images in Writer. When 4.0 is stable and generally available I'll download it and try. By the way, Fitoschido, I don't normally get to communicate with a really knowledgeable computer person,so may I take the opportunity to ask you if you've managed to avoid provoking Windows 8 into all sorts of misbehavior by what you consider innocent finger movements on the touchpad? I'm being driven absolutely crazy when I inadvertently cause the page I'm on to disappear and be replaced by some app or something else I don't want--this is happening constantly because of movements of my fingers on the touchpad that were totally meaningless on Windows XP, my prior computer's operating system. And more importantly, is there any way to disable these unwanted responses and create a touchpad like that of Windows XP? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
