Bug ID: 140723
Summary: Can't edit draw shapes in Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.1.0.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Using LO 7.1.0.3 on Ubuntu 20.10.
Editing drawn shapes in Writer seems to be completely broken.
If a document contains shapes, it is impossible to select and edit any of them
by clicking; the only way is to select them from "Drawing objects" in the
Navigator.
However, if a shape is selected that way, it is only possible to edit its
points if size protection is not enabled. In particular it seems absolutely
impossible to MOVE the shape without resizing it. Plus, any attempt to access a
contextual menu by right clicking will simply immediately unselect the shape.
It is also impossible to add text inside a shape. If copying a shape that
contains text from another document, it is impossible to enter the shape to
edit the text. Double clicking on the shape has no effect.
Finally even if anchored to a page, the shape seem to occasionally move to
arbitrary locations.
