Where did you get the OpenOffice extension for PDF import? This extension should be bundled in the official LibreOffice release, so you should not need it from other sources. Does it help you to start LO with fresh user configuration? Just rename /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/libreoffice/3 and start LO. Please, do not remove it.
