            Bug ID: 142000
Summary: Need alternative to KeyID language pack for
                    non-English languages
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

The KeyID language pack shows you, for each piece of text, the English version
and the KeyID. That's fine if you want to translate a _whole_ component, or
menu or what-not that's not been translated before. But if you want to pick up
on missing or mis-translated items, what you need to be able to do is map from
your language to KeyID - and that pack does not let you do it.

What would work?

1. Ability to start two instances of LO at same time with different-language
UIs. That way you could start an English+KeyID instance in parallel to your
local-language instance and look up the item by navigating to the same place.

2. A KeyID variant of each language pack. So, now we have English+KeyID; we
could have Castellano+KeyID, German+KeyID etc.

3. An extension (or built-in feature in dev builds?) which lets you lookup the
KeyID of UI items you're interacting with, or hovering over etc. Perhaps when
you press some key combination, or make a certain gesture etc.
