I cannot provide any proof now. I needed to use the software for work and
couldn't wait for LibreOffice to find and patch the bug. I experimented and
found that Liberation Serif Regular v 1.0.3 (with Italic, Bold and Bold Italic
left newer 2.1.4) works and makes Cyrillic regular font visible in both old and
new documents.
