It seems to depend on the font you use
Some results:
Calibri: O. K.
Arial, Liberation Sans and Segoe UI: three dots above and one dot below
Bahnschrift: several dots (looks like a line) above and one dot below
Liberation Serif: two dots above (but overlapping) and one dot below
